ZINC DUST FOR MECHANICAL PLATING

Mechanical Plating is an effective means of applying zinc, tin, or other metals and metal mixtures to metal parts. It has a number of advantages over typical electroplating and other coating processes.
One of the main advantages is the elimination of hydrogen embrittlement and the assurance of product reliability. It is a method preferred by many for hardened fasteners or critical assemblies. Mechanical Plating is the best way to avoid the extra expense of long baking cycles.
ZINC DUST FOR MECHANICAL GALVANIZING

Mechanical Galvanizng is an extension of mechanical plating except that the coating thickness is much higher.  Coatings a high as 3-4 mils (75-100 um) can be applied in same equipment and with same chemistry (slightly higher dosages apply). Mechanical Galvanizing offers many advantages to other high thickness processes.  Contact us today for details/ tech data.

       - No hydrogen embrittlement
       - Room temperature process, no detempering
       - Uniform threads. No need to cut threads after plating
       - No galling. Coating naturally lubricious, good torque-tension ratio
       - No stickers,  as with molten zinc process. Parts 100% usable.
       - Pure zinc coating with excellent adhesion
       - Low energy requirements create large savings.

Actual processing of parts in barrel. Slurry of water, parts, zinc dust, and chemicals in rotating tumbling barrel.
